Vancouver is whipping up its own brunch buzz! Brunch on this side of the Columbia has an equal amount of deliciousness and classics, so it’s time to find your new go-to spot. Grab your brunch buddies, choose your craving, and read on for some of the best spots to grab a mid-morning (or, let’s be honest, mid-afternoon) bite this weekend.

TAKING IN THE VIEWS

Whether you’re visiting the Waterfront for the first time or it’s your new favorite hang, the Grant Street Pier, front row seats to the Columbia River and first class views of Mount Hood never disappoint. Newcomers to the waterfront area are 13 Coins or Twigs Bistro, which serves up an array of brunch favorites like egg Benedict, French toast, and omelets in an upscale fashion. With so many choices, you’ll want to try it all! Further west towards the pier, you’ll find a little lighter brunch fare, if that’s what you’re into, at Kafiex Roasters Gastro Café. Known for their delicious coffee, they’re also serving up picture-worthy avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches. Looking for a quieter scene? Head further east of the bustling waterfront area and check out The Cove. You’ll have a beautiful view of the flowing Columbia River from your table as you enjoy their take on brunch classics.

SWEET TOOTH

Bleu Door Bakery is a sweet tooth’s dream! Right when you walk in, you’ll be hit with the smell of freshly baked treats and see pastries lined up behind the counter. You can order something on the go at their express window or get a table to really take in the yummy goodness. Syrup Trap on Main Street is sure to satisfy that sugar craving as well. With crafty confections like the “Leslie Knope” (served up with organic strawberries, whipped cream, and a wink to Parks and Recreation fans) or the “Mojo Jojo”— featuring Nutella, organic bananas, and whipped cream. The city’s first Liege waffle shop has savory fans covered as well, with waffles featuring ingredients like Havarti, bacon, and honey maple turkey.

BUBBLES

Ah, mimosas! The delightfully fruity, boozy little cocktails that separate a regular old breakfast from a true brunch. When you want to build your brunch around your beverages, head to the east side to French-inspired La Provence. Order a fun mimosa flight, and enjoy bubbles with every bite. Looking for a breakfast spot that offers high-end dishes and a memorable experience? Look no further than Cecilia's! This gem has quickly become a popular favorite, and it's easy to see why. Indulge in their decadent breakfast menu, featuring crispy fried chicken and waffles, fluffy Dutch babies, savory salmon benedict, and mouth-watering brunch burgers. Complete your meal with a delicious breakfast cocktail, and you'll be in for a treat. Elements Restaurant is a sure favorite, serving a variety of benedicts complimented with a fresh Farm Greens Tossed salad with champagne vinaigrette and radish that is guaranteed to please your palate.

FRESH AND HEALTHY

Ready to fuel up the healthy way for a day of adventure? The Mighty Bowl, a Vancouver-grown cart turned downtown brick-and-mortar, serves up fresh and filling acai bowls, tasty toasts, and an array of smoothies, juices, and wellness shots. Just a few blocks away, inside Tap Union Freehouse find Scratch Breakfast a casual vegetarian/vegan restaurant offering a host of homemade favorites!

TRADITIONAL

Looking for just a good, classic brunch meal? Check out Dulin's Cafe, where you’ll find breakfast favorites with a slight Irish influence. Or, for a true diner experience, head into Joe Brown’s Cafe and enjoy a blast from the past. Also, in the neighborhood, find the Uptown Barrel Room and Brickhouse with tasty favorites like eggs benedict, corned beef hash, and more!
