One of the first breweries to open in Vancouver, Mt. Tabor Brewing has been brewing and serving beer in downtown Vancouver for almost 4 years. Owner, Eric Surface turned his hobby of brewing beer into a business, and runs the brewery with a handful of friends. Open Thursday and Friday afternoons/evenings, Mt. Tabor Brewing offers visitors beers that are approachable and balanced.

“We’re small, so most everyone who works in the tasting room also does the brewing, keg washing, delivery, sales, marketing, etc. When you visit Mt. Tabor Brewing, half the time Nate (our head brewer) or myself will be behind the bar serving you beer. So not only are you sitting in the room where the beer is made, you’re being served by the people who make it. If you have questions or want to know more, there’s no better person to talk to. For us, being the same guys making and serving the beer makes the interaction with the customer a lot of fun. I love hearing people say they no longer need to drive across the bridge to get good beer. It’s really cool to be a part of the movement to bring more of this to Vancouver. There are 5 breweries in downtown now, and it makes Vancouver more of a destination, as it gives people the opportunity to “bar hop”, walk around downtown, and try all the breweries.”
