Weekly farmers markets are winding down, and the last outdoor movies and concerts of the season are being played at parks and wineries. Cue colorful leaves and fresh hop brews—fall is almost here!
Many of Vancouver USA’s top attractions are hosting autumn-themed events like Apple Cider Pressing at the Cedar Creek Grist Mill and the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad’s Harvest and Fall Leaves rides. The plans for Oktoberfests are in full swing—check out the one at Alderbrook Park for steins full of local brews, Lederhosen-clad dancers, and even wiener dog races.
Get in the spirit of Halloween with spooky adventures to the Scaregrounds or take a Haunted Walking Tour with the Clark County Historical Museum. A Haunted Couve Cycle Tour is also an option, complete with a historian onboard to share ghostly tidbits from the past. The Spirit Tales tours focus on the Vancouver Barracks and Officers Row, Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood.
Kids can enjoy a train ride with the resident Headless Horseman, or a trip down Pumpkin Lane at Pomeroy Farm via hayride to see more than 100 “pumpkin people.” The Scary Run encourages costumes as you race to the finish with festive food and drink.
Before you know it, we’ll be fighting over the turkey wishbone and winding strands of lights around Douglas Firs!
