WORLD-RENOWNED MUSICIANS TO HEADLINE THIS YEAR'S
VANCOUVER WINE & JAZZ FESTIVAL
Up to 15,000 people expected to attend the 14th annual event
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Beautiful Esther Short Park, located in the heart of downtown
Vancouver, will once again be the site of the hugely popular Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival.
This year, jazz enthusiasts from throughout the country will gather to hear such internationally
acclaimed musicians as Arturo Sandoval, Coco Montoya, Diane Schuur, Al Jarreau, John
Hammond, Bill Frisell, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, to name a few.
"This has become a signature event for Vancouver and has earned the city a spot in the
national jazz scene," said Kim Bennett, president and CEO of Vancouver USA Regional
Tourism Office. "Not only do local residents flock to this event every year, it attracts people from
all over the country. And, with these great headliners, this year could draw record attendance."
Recently featured on a new National Geographic GeoTourism map of Oregon and Washington,
the festival attracted visitors from 18 states and Canada. It is estimated that the 2010 festival
drew between 12,000 and 15,000 attendees over the three days of the event.
This year's event, scheduled for August 26, 27 and 28, will not only feature world-class
musicians, but also will bring together delicious food prepared by local chefs, locally produced
wines and artists from throughout the Northwest. More than 200 wines will be served from 20
wineries from throughout the Northwest and California. Additionally, there will be at least 10
Vancouver and Portland restaurants dishing up great cuisine and more than 40 artists
displaying their fine art and crafts.
Tickets are now on sale through the festival's website www.vancouverwinejazz.com . The cost
for a three-day pass is $50, while single day passes range from $17 to $21. A percentage of the
proceeds raised from the festival will go to support local arts programs.About Vancouver USA Regional Tourism Office
