Vancouver USA to Serve as Home of Northwest Street Rod Nationals Plus
The classic car showcase will return in 2014 and 2015 following the great success of its June event.

VANCOUVER, Wash. - The National Street Rod Association has announced a two-year contract with the Clark County Event Center to return the rumbling sounds of the Northwest Street Rod National Plus to Vancouver USA in 2014 and 2015.

The announcement follows the successful Vancouver USA debut of the event this past June, which brought thousands of automobile aficionados to the Clark County area.

"This year's Northwest Street Rod Nationals Plus was a huge success in part due to the participation of the car owners, the local hotels and the eateries-all of which equates to an economic boon for the community," said Mike Chrispyn, special events director for the NSRA. "The Pacific Northwest is a natural location for this event, and we are looking forward to growing our event over the next two years in Vancouver USA."

The 2013 Northwest Street Rod Nationals Plus resulted in 1,200 room nights booked over multiple nights and attracted more than 1,300 participants from as far away as Delaware, Florida, Michigan and Canada. In addition, the event drove visitors and car enthusiasts from around the region to the Clark County Event Center to experience the custom cool and lustrous shine of the pre-1984 vehicles on display.

"The event was a great opportunity for our area not only in terms of the economic impact created by visitors dining, shopping and staying in Vancouver USA, but also in terms of the level of community engagement," said Rosemary Cooke, director of sales for the Vancouver USA Regional Tourism Office."We expect to see even greater awareness in the next two years and a continuing economic benefit for the community."

The success of the event helped ensure the souped-up showcase would continue its Northwest cruise in Vancouver USA.

"We knew we were in the running with several other facilities to host this event and are excited to have been selected as the Pacific Northwest home for the next two years," said Heidi O'Hara, director of sales and events for the Clark County Event Center. "We look forward to building our relationship with the NSRA team to make this one of Clark County's most anticipated annual events!"

Vancouver USA was chosen as the host destination for its events center and its expansive grounds-both of which enable the center to house a large number of vehicle and commercial exhibits with high traffic volume. Vancouver USA was also selected for its quality lodging properties capable of hosting a multitude of car enthusiasts.
