VANCOUVER, Wash. - Visit Vancouver USA announces another year of tourism growth for Clark County according to recently released numbers from the Washington State Travel Impacts and Visitor Volume report. The report reveals that visitors to Clark County spent $504.8 million in 2015, a 5.1 percent increase from 2014.
Conducted annually by Dean Runyan Associates, the Washington State Travel Impacts and Visitor Volume report discloses yearly growth in visitor spending and analyzes travel economic impacts at the state, regional and local level. This marks the sixth consecutive year of reported tourism growth for Clark County.
"Vancouver has steadily built up an impressive array of new developments and vibrant attractions both in the downtown core and on the eastside," said Kim Bennett, President and CEO of Visit Vancouver USA. "We anticipate steady tourism growth in 2016 and beyond as we continue to open up our waterfront with new and exciting spaces for visitors to explore."
In total, visitors to Clark County spent $504.8 million, generated $135.3 million in job earnings, supported a workforce of 4,450, and generated more than $45.9 million in local and state taxes. Statewide, visitors spent more than $20 billion in 2015.
Clark County also outpaced several other Washington state counties in annual visitor spending growth including Spokane County, Pierce County, and Yakima County.
