VANCOUVER: TOP TICKETS ON THE ARTS & CULTURE SCENE

Vancouver’s arts and culture scene is exploding with numerous galleries, performing arts, concerts, and wineries offering a variety of art expressions and entertainment to explore. The galleries and shops in downtown Vancouver host a monthly arts open house called First Friday Artwalk, a community event for the artist, art enthusiast, and collector. Galleries are scattered throughout the city with concentrated arts areas in Downtown and Uptown along Main Street.  Many quaint and intimate theaters and musical venues offer year round performances to keep the residents and visitors entertained.  The area also offers six very distinct wineries, each offering superb award winning vintages.

Art Galleries

  • Firehouse Glass – Firehouse Glass is located in downtown Vancouver in the historic Vancouver National Bank Building built in 1906. Visitors can stop in and see local artists and nationally acclaimed masters form molten glass into breathtaking art. The gallery offers rotating shows throughout the year, showcasing unique one-of-a-kind pieces of glass art.
  • Art on the Boulevard – A project of Friends of the Arts, Art on the Boulevard's mission is to establish a community environment in which the arts flourish. A space of 12,000+ sq. feet and the work of 51 artists allows the gallery to display a wide variety of media and styles.
  • Aurora Gallery – Aurora Gallery offers Northwest comtemporary artwork, jewelry, and glass work.  Poster prints and custom framing are also are available.
  • North Bank Artists Gallery – North Bank Artists Gallery features work in photography, watercolors, acrylics, and hand-dyed silks. Open Studio Night offers a glimpse of the artists at work in their studios.
  • White Sturgeon Art Gallery – The White Sturgeon Art Gallery, located in the Water Resources Education Center, features paintings and photography with spectacular water thematic exhibits by local artists.
  • Sixth Street Gallery – Sixth Street Gallery brings a variety of artists together to celebrate and showcase their talents. The gallery displays art of photography, sculptures, drawings, acrylics, and original paintings.

Performing Arts

  • Old Slocum House Theatre Company – Next to Esther Short Park, the Old Slocum House Theater is Vancouver's oldest non-profit community theater. Located in the historic Slocum House, this 60 seat intimate theatre offers a unique venue for enjoying live theater performances.
  • Vancouver Symphony Orchestra – The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, with critically acclaimed music director and conductor Maestro Salvador Brotons is southwest Washington’s very own symphony. Musical performances run October through May, plus a summer outdoor evening concert in Esther Short Park.
  • Bravo! Vancouver Concert Series – The Bravo! Concert Series has established itself as one of the premiere choral groups in the Pacific Northwest, taking pride in its ability to perform diverse repertoire, and is equally at home performing jazz and popular music.
  • Clark College Theatre – The Clark College Theatre provides a rich cultural focus for the campus and surrounding community blending theatre, music, dance and art into entertaining and award-winning productions. For the past two decades, the theatre has been recognized as a leader in Southwest Washington, with a wide range of plays, which are culturally enriching and thought-provoking as well as entertaining.
  • The Amphitheater at Clark County – The Amphitheater at Clark County is a 60,000 square-foot live music venue located next to the Clark County Event Center and Fairgrounds. The state-of-the art facility seats almost 8,000 in the reserved covered pavilion area and an additional 10,000 under the stars on the lawn. The Amphitheater offers nationally acclaimed acts.
  • The Magenta Theater – The Magenta Theater offers an intimate theater in downtown Vancouver with multiple live performances. Shows are designed for audiences of all ages, and keep you on the edge of your seat.

Wineries

  • English Estate Winery – English Estate Winery makes a wide variety of award-winning wines from its own Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. The English family takes great pride in the art of wine grape growing and wine-making. The quaint European-style buildings, towering trees, and seasonal flowers at this winery make a perfect setting for tasting wine.
  • Bethany Vineyards – Bethany Vineyard and Winery combines the best traditions of winemaking with the nearly perfect growing climate of southwest Washington to produce a wine with distinct flavor and character. Visit the winery and tasting room and bring a picnic lunch or have them prepare one for you, then take a stroll through the beautiful lakeside vineyard.
  • Rusty Grape Vineyards – Rusty Grape is the region’s newest vineyard and winery located in a quiet country setting in southwest Washington. They are producing Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Pinot Gris, and Syrah varietals. An outdoor seasonal amphitheater offers special event movie nights where guests can sip wine, watch a movie, and order appetizers off a menu.
  • Three Brothers Vineyard & Winery - Three Brothers Vineyard & Winery is handcrafting wines from their two vineyards in the Ridgefield area including Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Chenin Blanc.  Their outdoor picnic area and stage is the perfect setting for summer concerts and events and the barrel room is available to rent for private parties.
  • Confluence Vineyards and Winery - Confluence Vineyards and Winery is a small and quaint boutique winery focused on small production levels of very high quality wine. The winery uses grapes from several growers throughout Washington State, then creates a blend that meets their high standards of excellence.
  • East Fork Cellars - East Fork Cellars specializes in creating wonderful blends of red varietals and offers a "Blend Your Own" program where you can make and private label your own special wine. The vineyard located in North Clark County, grows pinot noir, pinot gris, and chardonnay. The rich, alluvial soils and temperatures moderated by the East Fork of the Lewis River provide the outstanding characteristics of these estate wines.
