Vancouver, Washington, enjoys beautiful summers and mild winters. While the stereotype is that we get close to non-stop rain, the area actually gets far less rainfall than many popular destination cities. View the current weather conditions to learn more about our mild climate.

History
Fort Vancouver was established in 1825 by the Hudson’s Bay Company as a fur trading post and provisional center. It became the center of political, cultural and commercial activities in the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver USA, named after British explorer Captain George Vancouver, was incorporated in 1857—30 years prior to the Canadian city Vancouver, B.C. Clark County was named in honor of the great explorer William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
