Exploring the Vancouver Arts District

At the heart of downtown Vancouver on Main Street, the iconic marquee of the Kiggins Theatre has displayed movie titles from White Christmas to the Rocky Horror Picture Show since 1936.

Amidst this historic theater, a diverse celebration of the arts has sprung up in the nearby newly established Vancouver Arts District including local art galleries, public murals and performing arts theaters. Created to direct visitors around the thriving arts community in downtown Vancouver, the district provides a quality art experience for locals and visitors alike.

VDA's First Friday Downtown, Art in the Heart and the annual Recycled Arts Festival are a few of the many events that showcase the growing arts and culture scene year round.

As visitors stroll through the district between downtown restaurants, boutiques and galleries, they will find a community favorite - over 20 larger than life public murals that adorn the walls of local businesses and downtown buildings. Dedicated to transforming public space, the Clark County Mural Society has commissioned local artists to paint the murals and display the rich history and vibrancy of Vancouver USA.
